Returning to the Lyceum and a Work Out Log Entry!

So I am back in school Monday for my first day of FULL schooling in almost 3 years at a big school and it’s quite a change from the hell that is “thirteenth grade” community college. I must say that the experience has been fun and quite a blast! To meet kind people who know nothing of your past has been spectacular! The campus is bustling with activity and and there is a very vital energy that invigorates the place.

However, my return is not without difficulty… Sure, I do live in the “crappy” dorm alone, but I did not have luck on my side as my dorm does not have a mini-fridge and family feels I can forego needing a microwave. So I have had to be resourceful with my meal plan and make do with it or use my dining cash every now and then for minor snacks when I am burnt out on my stash.

I also restarted my workouts to try to account for the matter that I have been burning intense calories running up and down 9 flights of stairs and walking to classes. Obviously, my legs are strained out so I had to pick another muscle group… Yesterday it was abdominals.

  • 100 reps of crunches
  • 100 reps of cross crunches
  • Done in sets of 20 with a 5 second break in between sets

My abs are burning, however, today… I need to look into doing upper body work. Push-ups, triangle push-ups, and the exhausting decline push ups will probably be the fare of the day after my short sprint to Wal-Mart for calculator batteries.

Expect a post later today with a “furnished” tour of my dorm room… so far, my fans Kimi and Sol have noted that my single room is quite spacious compared to others.

48 Hours until Academic Battle Phase is Initiated

So I got my financials taken care of at school and it was quite simple… Just a reminder that my interest is 6.00% both on unsubsidized and subsidized loans and not to “eff up” (for slang) my work or I will once again be chased by the feds again. It was my first bad encounter to and from school with rainy roads while fending off wacky drivers at 100+ miles per hour in my soft shelled drop top in a long while. It was a fun journey, but I will say that having great tires means I have great traction for gear transitions.

The last bit of financial junk I need to resolve is paying the school $536 that the loans didn’t pay out. I guess one could consider it as Uncle Sam’s “Are you serious about school?” fee. I should be able to muster out the cash with no issue… However… I also need to get my PSP and DS sets sold off to generate repayment capital for my boon of luck from my family.

I still can’t believe that in about 48 hours I pack my crap up and drive out to my dormatory. It’s daunting, but exciting at the same run. I will be packing modest, as with becoming mobile… I don’t have much crap for save a printer, laptop, phone, and bags. It’ll be interesting being type-cast into the category of “starving college student” with my life on campus and coming back to town to work at the office… but for me, that’s more than worth my time! It is much like my philosophy, sometimes legends are born from a blank slate. This semester is my carte blanche, I will make a new legend for myself!

As far as the new site relaunch… That may be delayed for a while… In the mean time, I will probably search for a temporary lay-out that announces who’s writing what articles at ZeroXR.com so that when Wyno’s writing bug bites her, no one will assume it’s me! However, the new “About Zero” revision is underway and I have to thank my friend Nikkie for going out of her way to do that with me. Expect a very light hearted interview as it’s going to share a side of me that few get to know.

Things to Come and Such!

I have another slew of tech reviews coming soon so keep your eyes out for those! I plan on taking a new approach to this particular one as it does need a second opinion for all fair intents. It will be pretty sweet!

I have returned my machine to “OEM” spec with Windows XP Media Center Edition and await for my new machine purchase hopefully later this semester. However, due to the temporal return… I have been bitten by the gamer bug again and I have a few of my favorite games. I just need to get my vintage favorite game Quake on my system and all should be golden.

My family has been bugging me to set them up a machine so they can start trying to use the web again. My last experiment was a bit of a failure as Adobe’s implimentation of Flash for Linux in combination with Firefox and Konqueror on KDE didn’t quite pan out as well as I had hoped. From what I experiences with Ubuntu 8.04.1, Adobe is STILL slacking on the job there… So I am at a loss of how to make a safe and “idiotproof” machine for them that I won’t get the lovely service call at college of “Zero! We broke the computer! HELP!!!”

To close, I leave you all with a notice that “Zero’s Farewell to College” party is almost done on the details… From that, we wait for completion of everything and I will post the invite here, on social networks and personal e-mails. Expect it to be goofy and fun!

Site Announcements – Things to Come and Healing of the Self

I know I have spoken about the site revamp… but as some can tell… My aesthetics are somewhat weak. Want proof? I am was using the default WordPress layout for readability and stability reasons. I have been trying to pen out the framework of ZeroXR 13mg v.2 and I know my vision for the site. A haven for guys and/or geeks who want to have a more human point of view on the things I or my staff write about within the vectors of technology, rants, and male style/grooming. I have conferred with Wyno on this matter and have commissioned the revision of this site’s style to her. I would like to be able to give her a work she can show off to the world as a prospective designer. I just need to pen down some “rules” for her to try to bend and break… as she has stated she likes trying to break out of constraining rules.

As far as the site goes, lacking a tech budget sucks and even more with respect that I soon start college soon. I have talked with Wyno about maybe trying to do yet another contest… but on what… I have no idea. I muse and say that I could always do one on World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King when it hits this November… but that would mean shelling cash on buying the game myself and then buying a copy for the ZeroXR Loot Chest. If anyone has some contest ideas to try assisting a creative spark, please let me know.

For my interview gig… I have found my guest editor to pen out the interview. The only remaining business to take care of is finding a photographer to capture me at my best and at my finest. If you’re a local photographer (or know one) to the Dallas area who wouldn’t mind being recompensated with meal and drink, please drop me a line at info@zeroxr.com or feel free to Skype me.

OH! Which reminds me… In light of things… I would like to make mention that I have gotten on board with people who like to do VoIP calls. This avenue also opens things up for things like interviews and queries with me on a personal basis… In other words… those who are too ghetto to spare minutes in the daytime but wish to make a call with their computer and internet connection are more than welcome to. I am on Skype as ZeroXR13mg so don’t be shy to request an audience with me. I encourage networking if anything!

I haven’t quite been myself lately with a few things in the material world causing me a bit of panic… I know my sister Alice when she did her holistic healing lab on me had asked if I had considered seeing a doc to be dosed on anti-anxiety drugs, though that concerns me as I don’t like the idea of being on Xanax or any benzodiazepines to the point that my body becomes co-dependent on it. I have been venturing to holistic healing paths lately with a combination of prayer and positive thought which has helped, but it has not cured the heart of the matter. I am debating on possibly taking a hiatus of the site for a week or so and possibly leave Miss Wyno in charge of things here while I try to grapple with my personal demons. More than likely… I’ll discuss that with her later today.

I bid you all adieu for now… I am going to attempt to dose myself with a shot of Vitamin D, healing breezes, and the whispering sun all from the comfort of my chariot… Devil, with the top down of course!

OMGz WTF is THAT?!?!?!? – Wyno [Funny Outtake]

So I was talking about the site and out of random… she said the above. Of course, I didn’t see this myserious smilie on my page… Then I would ask Cousin Sol and he’d say “Yeah! I do!” I’d check on Internet Explorer and sure enough… I saw that creepy smile at the bottom of my site. So naturally, I’d freak out and get the shivers too!

Then my common logic kicked in of “Wyno, are you logged in?” She’d log in and then, lo and behold, it disappeared. The mystery of the creepy smilie was solved.

It comes from the WordPress.com Site Metric tracker apparently as a file called g.gif, imagine that.

Ghastly Screams and Ghostly Whispers…

Lately with my erratic dreaming… it’s concerned me greatly. It didn’t help that some visions and nightmares have been remanifesting again. Combine that with my sister using me as a diagnosis patient for holistic healing and she read my vitals while also trying to feel my aura fields… She pretty much hit the root of my ills. My sleep has been fragmented and far from satisfying my body… For once… I may call it a night and try to throw some articles up for the site tomorrow.

Before I get the gratuitious messages about “Dude… hit up a doc for some [insert random narcotic here] to help you!”, I personally don’t believe in narcotics for sleep… I have done the herbal stuff which that doesn’t help either. I may try spiritual or holistic methods to try to quell the ethereal demons traversing my brain waves very soon… because there are some days… I want to throw an article up on the site, but the words don’t come out. I know I have been through some turbulent times, but I muse and say… Maybe I need a vacation from my daily job. Something to get me away from the berg of Dallas and to somewhere out on the east coast. I know I have a few debts to resolve… so once I get those out… I may seek to treat myself to something I have been overdue for a long time. The last true vacation I had was back in 2002… We’re already in 2008… Holy freakin’ cow… I am one tired work horse.

Soon to Come, Slowing Down, and Sexy Parties.

College is a time when things like getting prepared for the new curriculum and other such items are a chaotic universe. We have to fight through the chains of financial burden just to make an investment in our education. I know I have been busy on multiple fronts with college prep, fighting a battle ground at the offices of my daily grind, and trying to find time for myself to relax from the chaos.

What’s happening here at the desk of Zero? I have a few articles I have been working on from my phone when I have down time at my daily grind or out and about town. One of them is actually pretty good with regards to content. I have found a potential editor for my new site revamp, so unless that falls through… I just need to find a photographer to fashonably capture me in my best and enjoying life, my pursuits, and good times. I hope to have the revamp up by end of July as well as my interview.

With school on the horizon, I foresee myself writing significantly less due to buckling down to finish the last of my pre-pharmacy course work and hopefully hit out to pharmacy school and take my PCAT’s. I’ll definitely try to put some fuel to the fires of ZeroXR 13mg, but I will not lie when I say it’ll be one hell of a battle. Lately, I have been thinking of doing another big “meet-n-greet” event for ZeroXR 13mg as well as a “Farewell to Zero ’cause he’s going to Commerce” party for my friends. I know some were excited to hear that I am leaving for school, but at the same time sad to hear that I will probably be obsessed with work and school. My party will probably be held closer to early to mid August before everyone else starts heading back to college as well. Cousin Sol will be dragged out to this event for sure… but I will blanket friends with the invite once I have everything penned down. Expect the place for this event to be both refined and fun… and possibly involving sharp pointed objects!

Speaking of sharp pointed objects… I am trying to possibly flesh out details for Cousin Sol’s 21st birthday. I do need help on one vector… Friends to come out to the event. Many of my loyal readers have heard the tale of my 21st birthday being the one blemish on my life I wish I could undo… but in light of that, I would like to make Sol’s 21st a fantastic one so he can at least have a smashing good time. (No pun intended of course…) I would like to be a brother to him and give him a gathering that would be impressive no less. Due to his love of medieval and feudal culture, I have had my mind set on Medieval Times in Dallas for the location. The time… That will be dependent on our school schedules.

Seeking a Guest Editor AND Photographer [Gig Opportunity!]

This site has been a bit of a personal haven to be, but I really think more fleshing out of the site to identify this site with me is in order. My biography is a little short and not really too descriptive so I would like to work on giving more detail to it. What does this mean?

I need to for someone to do a detailed editorial interview with me. I can recompensate for your time, energy and services with food and drink. The style of interview I am seeking is one much like the ones found in Men’s Style, GQ, Men’s Health, et al. Something that gives users an in-depth look at the writer, dreamer, and proprietor of the offices for ZeroXR. I need an interview that is both through but as well as fun with out seeming too formal. The better the article, the better I am willing to recompensate you!

I need a photographer for this interview to capture some of the dynamics of myself as well as even the simple things as well. I too will make you the same offer of food and drink in exchange for the images to be edited and showcased on ZeroXR 13mg as well as give you props for the image work. I will probably consult you for a advice on how to frame the images into the article as well. If you’re skilled in piecing together outfits for the images, that will definitely get you a much better gift on recompensation.

No past experience is required, but the only restriction is that you must reside in Dallas and the interview must be in person and possibly with the photographer. The itenerary is TBA once I can network with both parties to arrange for the interview.
